New Orleans, LA – Adam Davis Law Firm, a premier maritime law practice dedicated to representing injured maritime workers, announces the addition of Michelle Paré Ricca. Ricca brings unparalleled experience to the firm's mission of delivering “Mariners for Mariners” advocacy. Her nearly decade-long tenure as a Chief Engineer Unlimited on offshore supply vessels gives her an edge in analyzing maritime injury cases. She understands engine room systems, shipboard protocols, and failure points, allowing her to identify issues that other attorneys may overlook.

"Michelle's transition from the engine room to the courtroom embodies everything our firm stands for," said Adam Davis, founding partner of Adam Davis Law Firm. "As a former mariner herself, she speaks the same language as our clients—understanding the rigors of life at sea, the importance of safety protocols, and the devastating impact of negligence. Her addition amplifies our unique edge: big firm experience paired with small firm focus, all from attorneys who have truly lived the maritime life."

Ricca joins the firm after serving as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Carl J. Barbier at the United States District Court, Eastern District of Louisiana, where she applied her dual maritime and legal knowledge to complex cases from August 2024 to August 2025. Prior to her clerkship, she graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in May 2024, ranking in the top 10% of her class. A member of the Loyola Law Review and recipient of the 2021-2022 Warren E. Mouledoux Professional Responsibility Award, Ricca excelled in courses such as Legal Research and Writing, Professional Ethics, and Torts.

Before pursuing her Juris Doctor, Ricca built a robust career in marine engineering. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering (magna cum laude) from Massachusetts Maritime Academy in 2012, with a minor in Energy Management. From 2012 to 2021, she served as Chief Engineer Unlimited at Otto Candies, LLC, operating and maintaining engine rooms on offshore supply vessels contracted by Royal Dutch Shell. In this leadership role, she directed teams of engineers, supervised fuel, chemical, liquid bulk, and dry bulk cargo operations, and coordinated shipyard inspections, retrofits, and surveys. Her early internship as an Engineering Cadet at Tyco Telecommunications in 2010-2011 further solidified her technical foundation, including participation in a full main engine overhaul aboard the cable-laying ship Reliance.

Admitted to practice in all Louisiana state courts, the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, Ricca is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and the St. Thomas More-Loyola Law American Inn of Court. She holds an array of industry certifications, including a USCG License as Chief Engineer Unlimited-Motor, 30-Hour OSHA General Industry Safety & Health, Vessel Security Officer, TWIC, 24-Hour HAZWOPER Technician Training, Certified Rigger for Cargo Transfers, Hydrogen Sulfide Safety Training, and Helicopter Underwater Egress Training (HUET). These credentials underscore her unwavering commitment to maritime safety and professionalism.

Ricca's background as a professional mariner fuels her passion for holding companies accountable for unsafe practices. "Having spent years ensuring vessels ran safely under demanding offshore conditions, I now use that experience to identify where things went wrong and why. Injured mariners deserve an advocate who understands not just the law, but the job itself. That’s the heart of our 'Mariners for Mariners' approach, and I’m proud to be part of a team that lives it every day.

Adam Davis Law Firm, comprised entirely of former mariners and seasoned trial lawyers, continues to set itself apart by leveraging deep operational insights to craft effective strategies for clients facing maritime casualties, Coast Guard investigations, and compensation claims. The firm's small-firm agility ensures personalized attention, while its attorneys' collective experience rivals that of larger practices.
